Abstract

After the end of Coronavirus pandemic and the rush to experience distance learning for two years, going back to traditional education has become a step back in the educational process; perhaps it is necessary to consider the blended education system as it combines the advantages of distance and traditional education. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present the experiment of blended learning in the architectural drawing course within the Interior Design Program at College of Basic Education in Kuwait, and to monitor the results of this experiment in terms of student satisfaction and the discovery of challenges and obstacles in this system.
This exploratory study adopted experimental approach in teaching the basics of architectural drawing by combining classrooms and online learning using digital platform during a full semester for 6 student divisions. Students' opinions were surveyed for this experiment, and results showed high positives of blended learning and the effectiveness of its methodology. Blended Learning provides flexibility in time management and creates an appropriate educational environment that combines the collective spirit in the classroom, calm and psychological comfort at home, and easy accesses to multiple learning resources. The results of the experiment confirmed the importance of direct feedback for the success of blended learning. In conclusion, this study should be taken into consideration by the Interior Design Department at College of Basic Education. The recommendations presented in this study should be considered for future systems in teaching Interior Design using the blended learning methodology.
