Abstract

clothing is an important industry. It is aimed for a specific market and is subject to many regulations that correspond to medical requirements. With the increase of international interest toward sustainability and recycling, non-textiles have also gained increased interest in international markets. Specifically, that interest grew in the medical field due to the non-textiles characteristics that conform with the medical field requirements. Therefore, countries have established many national and international standards for non-textile medical equipment. The Saudi has assigned the Saudi Food and Drug Authority to establish regulations and procedures for quality control to maintain medical equipment conformity with the authority requirements. Moreover, due to the importance of maintaining conformity of medical non-textile equipment in Saudi with quality requirements, and for knowing the extent of the knowledge of people who work in the industry about these requirements as they are the direct link between the product and the consumer, researchers have taken samples of the non-textile equipment available at a number of specialized shops in Jeddah. Then, Researchers conducted interviews with 7 workers in these shops. The medical clothes they tested had high excellent quality (masks, gowns, head covers, and foot covers) in Saudi Arabia’s market with mean of 3 on the 3-point Likert scale. Researchers concluded through evaluation of workers knowledge that they have high excellent awareness with a mean of 4.57 on masks’ quality requirements. They had also very good awareness with a mean between 3.80 and 3.50 on quality requirements of gowns, head covers, and foot covers
