Abstract

The research aims to study fashion trends to benefit from them in designing women's fabrics on jacquard weft knitting, using different and varied stitches in one design, as well as different colors to produce one piece with a rich design, finding new ways and complex design solutions to raise the aesthetic value of women's fabrics, exploiting the possibility of a device Jacquard weft knitting to raise the artistic and aesthetic value of women's weft knitting fabrics. The research followed the experimental and analytical approach. The theoretical framework included studies related to jacquard weft knitting. Accordingly, the research focused on studying the properties of fibers and specifications of yarns, raw materials and fabrics suitable for women's clothing, and the types of raw materials and machines and their specifications used in the production of fabrics were clarified. Whereas, three groups were implemented, each group had three models, and it was implemented on circular jacquard weft knitting machines, and after executing the samples, questionnaires were made to make a comparison between the three models.
The knitted fabric industry represents a very large sector of fabric production sectors at the local and global levels. Knitted fabrics are used in many fields, starting from clothing and furnishing fabrics to industrial and technical fabrics, car fabrics, etc. To the distortion of the hairs, as the loops act as hinges, and thus the wrinkle resistance is high.
