Abstract

Abstract:
The furniture industry is one of the vital industries that plays a huge role in the economy and in meeting the needs of society. However, this industry produces large quantities of wood residues that pose an environmental and economic challenge for factories. These residues may accumulate and represent a burden if not handled effectively, but this burden can be transformed into new opportunities by reworking them into high-quality design units.
Leftover wood, generated from various sources such as the furniture industry, represents a great opportunity to develop sustainable products. Through the use of modern production technologies in the reuse of wood residues in interior design and furniture is a topic worthy of attention in the field of sustainability and environmental design. Leveraging leftover wood as a renewable and sustainable resource is vital to reducing the waste generated by the timber industry and achieving a balance between design and environmental needs.
This research aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the UAE Vision 2030 by applying sustainable solutions in the manufacture of innovative design units in the field of interior design, with a special focus on the use of recycled wood residues.
