Abstract

Pixel art is an ancient digital technique that emerged with the advent of early computer devices. It is characterized by its simplistic design and reliance on small colored units to create images. Despite its age, this technique has gained significant attention in recent years in the fields of design and creativity.
In the field of textile design, designers constantly seek innovative design methods and techniques to create unique and distinctive designs that attract consumers. Therefore, this research aims to explore the potential of utilizing pixel art in designing innovative upholstery fabrics, which would effectively attract consumers and meet their needs. The research problem can be summarized as the limitation of upholstery fabric designs to traditional methods, which leads to a reliance on repetitive pattern designs. This lack of diversity and innovation in the available offerings to consumers results in feelings of boredom and monotony. The study assumes that the utilization of pixel art in designing upholstery fabrics contributes to enhancing the furniture industry and providing distinctive and innovative designs for consumers. The research yielded significant results in producing innovative artistic designs using the pixel art technique, incorporating distinctive design elements which achieved unique artistic visions. Additionally, the research resulted in the creation of non-traditional designs that are not currently available in the market. This provides multiple opportunities to enhance the economy and expand both domestically and internationally. It also helps enrich the consumer experience with a range of new and innovative designs.
