Abstract

Patients suffer from anxiety and stay in hospitals for long periods as a result of their deportation
About their families and their natural environments, which affects their psychological and health conditions. Therefore, the study addressed the importance of providing a healthy building design that helps speed up the healing process. Given that hospital buildings today face many different challenges, it may require the importance of applying modern interior and architectural design to keep pace with these developments. To help patients recover quickly and enhance the productivity of workers in the place, the research addressed the importance of sustainability and intelligent design within hospital buildings through the application of energy-saving sources that reduce the amount of consumption, and attention to providing natural elements affecting human health, and the application of smart materials and modern materials in design, in addition to the combination of art and architecture to reach a health facility that combines beauty and function in its design. The study emphasized the diversity of sustainable and smart trends to keep pace with the changes that the era is going through and enhance the concept of sustainability, technology and smart materials to achieve a healthy environment.
The research concluded that Egyptian hospitals can be developed into a system that applies the foundations and standards of sustainability and intelligent design within health care buildings.
