Abstract

Art has been linked to the important transformations that have taken place in human societies around the world. There were many transformations after World War I, and on top of these transformations was the Industrial Revolution and the emergence of new trends in art and design, which was the true birth of the emergence of modern schools and the beginning of the conflict between trends and the competition in research and innovation until both art and design reached a point worthy of attention، Although for a long time there was a clear gap between technology and both art and design, new materials and inventions changed the thinking of designers who were inspired by previous models. With the modern technological capabilities that have emerged, it has changed the intellectual orientations of many artists and designers, enabling them to produce new ideas and new forms of furniture pieces that suit the era of industry and modernity, as well as human and societal needs.
In this research, we will study the compatibility between creative thought and technology by utilizing the thought and philosophy of Scandinavian designers’ works in designing contemporary furniture and deriving modern design visions for interior spaces.
