Abstract

Fiber-reinforced concrete is considered one of the modern fields concerned with improving the life span of concrete, as research has proven that the technique of using textile fibers for reinforcement is one of the best means of improving the bending behavior of concrete.
Therefore, researchers have recently been interested in studying and using new composite materials as reinforcement materials instead of traditional reinforcement.
They also moved to study the strengthening of concrete elements, including beams, columns, and slabs, which rely on woven fabrics, with the aim of strengthening existing buildings against earthquakes and increasing loads as alternative methods to traditional methods.
Therefore, this research provides the foundations for the production of new types of woven fabrics and composite materials made of glass fibers and resinous materials to suit the purpose of their use in the field of structural engineering in the reinforcement of concrete elements - beams - slabs.
With the presentation, discussion and analysis of the results of tests related to the fabrics produced under research and used. The study included an investigation of the properties related to the fabrics produced and used in structural engineering, and includes measuring the weight per square meter in grams of the fabrics produced in addition to bending tests and the extent of their impact on their ability to resist the pressure applied to it.
