Abstract

Visual dominance is considered one of the important principles in interior design, which can be achieved through the dominance of some design elements through the dominance of color or texture, or through the use of shapes and their organization. The axis does not have to be in the middle of the design, but it can be on the side of it. Visual dominance is achieved by creating focal points that can be controlled to make one of those points the dominant element. The designer can start creating different levels of dominance that move the recipient from the top, attracting him towards the bottom, in a smooth, gradual manner. This is addressed through research through interior design elements such as floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, etc. The research also addresses the strength of the relationships between dominance as one of the principles of interior design and the rest of the other principles according to the gradation of the relationship from strong to weak. The extent of specialist agreement on the credibility of these proposed relationships was investigated through the research through a specialized questionnaire.
