The Integration of Esoteric and Biophilia concepts in the Design of Eco-Health resorts

Eco-Health resorts are more than a destination for rest and relaxation; as they play a key role in helping people who suffer from chronical diseases to improve their life quality, by integrating traditional remedies with alternative treatments and natural elements.،But despite the wellness resorts growing interest in providing physical treatments for specific diseases; they often disregard the psychological aspects of these illnesses, which have a leading part in the healing process. Depression and other psychological disorders which are concomitants of chronical diseases hinder the healing process and prolong the time required for full recovery,Therefore; wellness resorts must adopt an integrated approach which treat both the body and soul, taking into consideration that the mental health is a cornerstone in the healing process of their guests ,This research attempts to integrate the wisdom of ancient times; represented in the esoteric science; with modern knowledge, in the field of biophilic design. This combination aims to design an integrated environment, in which the natural elements enhance the mental health; and the esoteric knowledge helps in self-development and recovering from diseases.,The research depends on the descriptive-analytical and practical methods to provide design solutions for the spaces inside wellness resorts; and to set a design criteria which focuses on the patients’ mental health and develops designs for wellness resorts adopting an integrated approach which treats the body and soul of their guests.
