Abstract
In light of rapid advancements in design and technology, temporary structures have increasingly moved beyond their traditional role as provisional solutions to become dynamic environments that achieve functional, aesthetic, and experiential objectives. These spaces now serve as interactive platforms that reinforce brand identity, foster community engagement, and generate immersive, multisensory experiences for users. Sensory design has gained prominence as a contemporary approach that stimulates multiple senses—sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste—in order to construct impactful and memorable spatial encounters. This development aligns with the expanding concept of *spatial experience*, which emphasizes understanding the ways individuals interact with and respond to their environments. Accordingly, smart and interactive technologies such as adaptive lighting, tactile surfaces, audiovisual effects, and immersive systems like augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) have been increasingly integrated into the design of temporary commercial structures. The intersection of sensory design with these advanced tools has redefined how users perceive and engage with temporary spaces, particularly within commercial, cultural, and entertainment contexts. The significance of this research lies in proposing theoretical and practical frameworks that support architects and designers in merging sensory strategies with technological applications to create comprehensive user experiences. Such integration not only enhances the quality of urban life but also improves the efficiency and relevance of temporary projects by promoting engagement and social interaction. Furthermore, the study highlights successful applications, identifies practical challenges, and explores the broader implications of adopting sensory-interactive design within temporary commercial environments.
