Abstract

Autism is a neurological disorder that affects the way individuals interact with the world around them, requiring customized indoor environments carefully designed to meet the specific needs of each individual case. This research aims to explore and highlight the role of artificial intelligence as an innovative tool to improve the quality of design of customized indoor therapeutic spaces, where the capabilities of artificial intelligence are exploited to analyze each patient’s data, then anticipate needs and provide customized design solutions for each case, in a manner that suits the sensory and behavioral challenges faced by autism spectrum patients.
The design of an existing specialized center for providing care for autism patients was studied and analyzed to accurately understand their actual needs, and the design criteria for spaces designated for autism spectrum patients were derived and used as inputs to produce interactive designs that respond to these needs and are in line with the therapeutic requirements of autism patients using artificial intelligence programs.
The results showed that artificial intelligence has a great ability to improve the quality of the therapeutic environment by providing customized design solutions, which enhances the possibility of integrating it into the field of healthcare; the study recommends adopting these technologies more widely to develop therapeutic programs and customized interactive environments that meet the needs of autism patients.
